What does it cost to build an AI agent for your business

There is no price list that fits every company: the cost of a business AI agent depends on concrete, checkable variables before a project even starts. Here they are, one by one.

Why there is no fixed price

Anyone searching "how much does a business chatbot cost" often expects a tiered price list, like a hosting plan. In practice, a business AI agent is closer to custom software development than to an off-the-shelf product: two companies with the same stated goal ("automate customer service") can have entirely different scopes of work, and therefore different costs.

The five variables that really determine cost

How this translates into time (and therefore cost)

In our method, a working prototype on real data typically takes 4 to 6 weeks: this is when a company sees the agent actually working before committing to the rest of the project. Production release, integrated with existing systems, usually takes another 6 to 10 weeks. Total cost is proportional to how many of these weeks are needed, not to a flat-rate price list.

The initial pre-analysis is always free

Before proposing a project, we assess feasibility and scope with you in a pre-analysis that is never a cost: it is the basis we build the proposal on, not a limited-time offer. The prototype described above, and any demo, remain paid phases: their cost depends on the project's complexity — more systems to integrate, stricter compliance requirements — and is fixed by contract in the proposal, before work starts.

What to ask for in a quote

Before signing, check that the proposal makes clear: what is included in the prototype versus the production release; who handles integration with your systems; whether technology transfer to your own team is included, or whether you remain dependent on the vendor; and what happens if requirements not foreseen at the outset emerge during the project.

How we work

Our agent and automation development service always starts with a prototype on your real data, before the cost of the full project is defined: you see the agent working before committing to the rest. Once the scope is defined, cost is fixed by contract in the proposal — no surprises along the way.

Frequently asked questions

Q.1Is the prototype quoted separately from the rest of the project?

We always start with a free pre-analysis to assess feasibility and scope. The prototype itself, and any demo, then have a cost that depends on the project's complexity and is defined in the proposal.

Q.2What happens if the project grows in scope along the way?

Any extension beyond what was agreed is defined in a new agreement, with equally clear goals and cost. No unplanned costs are added to the original proposal.

Q.3Is it better to start small or think big from day one?

In almost every case it pays to start with a single high-volume process, measure the result, and then scale: that is the approach that lets you validate the investment before expanding it, and it is what our method follows.
